The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) has announced that their national team will face Comoros in an international friendly match on March 25th.
Bahiru Tilahun, the EFF General Secretary confirmed to Sport News Africa that the friendly match will be played in Moroni.
The two teams will use the friendly match to prepare ahead of the group stage of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 qualifiers later in the year.
Comoros reached the round of 16 at the 2021 AFCON losing to hosts Cameroon 2-1, while Ethiopia bowed out in the group stage without picking a single win.
Wubetu Abate, the Ethiopian head coach announced a 30-man provisional squad on Tuesday which will train for a few days before traveling to Moroni for the international friendly.
“This will be a very good friendly match for my players against a strong team. Since we are also building a team and having some new players in the squad, these matches will help them get exposure,” added Abate.
