10 ‘riotous’ UZ students granted bail

BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO

TEN University of Zimbabwe (UZ) students were yesterday granted $50 000 bail each when they appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court charged with public violence.

They were arrested on Wednesday at the UZ campus protesting against an increase in tuition fees.

Allegations are that the students, and others who are at large, protested outside UZ administration block.

The court heard that they were arrested after they became riotous. Caroline Mutimusakwa represented the State. The case was remanded to May 5, 2022
